Oil Spill - Nov 6

On November 6 a fuel oil spill was discovered in the Warms Springs Run north of Berkeley Springs on Williams Street. Response by County officials was immediate. The source of the leak was identified and the leakage was stopped. It appears that the environmental impact to the Run is minimal, although further testing will be done.

Adpot-A-Highway - Oct 24

Our final 2017 Adopt-a-HIghway cleanup took place on Oct 24. Six picker-uppers took about 3 hours to walk most of the 2.5 miles on Rt 522 from the Post Office in Berkeley Springs to Winchester Grade Rd. Thanks Rebecca, Jeff, Mike, Kate, Susan and Andy.



Tree Planting - Oct 10

27 more trees planted in our final such event of 2017.  18 were grounded behind Trump and Trump off 522 and at 9 on private property at Radio Station Rd on Oct 10. The Town of Bath helped with the planting in town with water, mulch and labor (Thanks, Rodney, Dean and Caleb). 10 WSWA members came out to dig, adjust, tamp, level, water and mulch - Thanks Kate, Andy, Stan, Mike, Rebecca, Larry, Susan, Bob, Jeff and Zach.

Rain Garden planting - Oct 4

The plantings at the Rain Garden in Greenway Cemetary were substantially augmented by several of our members, last Wed Oct 4. About 150 pots were emptied and planted there. Participating were Rebecca MacLeod, Lisa Swanson, Beth Skinner, Michael Brooks, Susan Jones, Mary Youngblood, Jeff Iliff, Kate Lehman, Andy Swaim, and Bob Wurster.

August Board Meeting Cancelled
