Elizabeth Byers of the WV Dept of Environmental Protection will lead a field trip to the Widmeyer Wetlands following a presentation about wetlands, use, protection, legal status and beauty. This is co-sponsored by Sleepy Creek WA and the Potomac Valley Audubon Society.

Cacapon Institute is sponsoring a Summer Camp for children (6th to 8th grade) interested in learning about stream and watershed activities.

The WV Make-it-Shine event was enthusiastically promoted and carried out by more than 16 friends the morning of Apeil 9. 31 bags of trash, 5 tires, one TV, plywood and gutters (86’ were retrieved from the proposed Rail Trail and from along the run crossing Jimstown Rd, just north of Berkeley Springs. Thank you all!

The 45 trees ordered by 12 residential property owners in Morgan County and the Sheetz Corp. were distributed yesterday, April 6, after a demonstration planting led by Zach Norris of the Cacapon Institute who organized this overall BMP project for the Eastern Panhandle. Participants then helped plant the 11 remaining trees on the Sheetz hillside site.
